When a regional plan is worth it

If you travel through more than one country, or drive across the Balkans towards Germany, Switzerland or Austria, a Europe plan usually costs less than several separate local plans.

If you are staying in a single country, check that country page too — a local plan is often cheaper for the same data.

Crossing borders

A regional eSIM connects to a local network on its own once you cross the border. There is nothing to do except give the phone a minute to register.

If it stays without service, toggle Airplane mode and check that mobile data is assigned to the eSIM rather than your main SIM.
