Help choosing a plan
Which data plan fits your trip?
- Fixed data: a set allowance for your trip. Check both the GB and the validity period.
- Unlimited: check the daily full-speed allowance and any reduced-speed limits on the plan.
- Maps and messaging usually use less data than video. Downloads, video calls and hotspot sharing can use much more.

12 plans are active for Spain, 1 GB – 20 GB, valid for 3 days – 30 days. Prices start at €0.99. Validity begins when the eSIM first connects to a supported network, not when you buy it. Travelling through several countries? This destination is also covered by the Europe plan.
Tunnels, mountain roads and two island groups
Spain is large: the mainland, the Balearics, and the Canaries far out in the ocean. High speed trains run through long tunnels where the connection cuts out, so download your ticket, your map and your music before you leave.
In the north the roads wind into valleys and gorges, where the signal depends on which side of the mountain you are on. You reach the Canaries by plane, or on a scheduled ferry line from the southern coast of the mainland, which takes far longer than the flight. Those islands keep a different clock from the mainland, so leave the phone to set the time by itself.
One trip, two halves: mainland and islands
Many trips here split in two: a few days on the mainland, then a hop out to one of the island groups. That hop is an internal flight or a ferry, and that is exactly where people find themselves offline without expecting it — in the air, or hours out over open water, far from any mast.
So before you buy, check the coverage list to confirm both island groups are included, and check the tariff on your own main line to see whether it treats the far islands the same as the mainland, because some tariffs list them separately. Then download your boarding pass, your map and the return timetable while you are still on land with a solid connection.

Frequently asked questions
Does my phone need to support eSIM?
Yes. Your device must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. Check the exact model and sales region before purchase.
When should I install my eSIM for Spain?
Read the plan instructions before departure. You can install it over Wi‑Fi, while the validity start depends on the plan conditions confirmed before payment.
Can I keep my number and WhatsApp?
On most phones you can keep your primary line enabled and use the eSIM for data. Exact settings depend on your device and primary carrier.
Is the signal the same everywhere in Spain?
No. Coverage and speed depend on the local network, location, device and network load. Review the listed networks when they are available on the plan.
Does the same package cover the Balearics and the Canaries?
Usually yes, since both are part of Spain, but check the coverage list before buying, because distant islands sometimes carry a separate note. If you fly from the mainland to the Canaries, you do not need to change your eSIM.
What happens to the connection on high speed trains?
It drops inside tunnels and comes back on its own at the other end. Board with the ticket already downloaded, because it gets checked while the train is moving.
