Help choosing a plan
Which data plan fits your trip?
- Fixed data: a set allowance for your trip. Check both the GB and the validity period.
- Unlimited: check the daily full-speed allowance and any reduced-speed limits on the plan.
- Maps and messaging usually use less data than video. Downloads, video calls and hotspot sharing can use much more.

12 plans are active for Tunisia, 1 GB – 20 GB, valid for 3 days – 30 days. Prices start at €1.99. Validity begins when the eSIM first connects to a supported network, not when you buy it. Travelling across several countries or continents? This destination is also covered by the Global plan.
From the northern coast to the Sahara
The northern coast, Tunis and the larger towns hold a steady signal, and everyday things work there without thinking about it. As soon as you head south towards the oases and the Sahara, the distances between settlements stretch out and long stretches of road have nothing at all.
If you drive yourself or join a desert tour, download the offline map and leave your day plan with someone before you leave the last town. Coverage comes back in the oases and the towns, not between them.
Roaming and arriving by ferry
Tunisia is a short crossing away from Europe, but being that close does not change the bill: the regulated European roaming zone is drawn by membership rather than by distance, and Tunisia falls outside it. Ask your operator for the North African rate by name before you leave, because on most price lists it is a line of its own and not part of the European allowance you already pay for.
If you arrive by ferry from Italy, remember that coverage falls away soon after the boat leaves the coast and most of the crossing passes with no network on land. Switch the eSIM on when you step off at the port and keep mobile data turned off on the old card.

Frequently asked questions
Does my phone need to support eSIM?
Yes. Your device must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. Check the exact model and sales region before purchase.
When should I install my eSIM for Tunisia?
Read the plan instructions before departure. You can install it over Wi‑Fi, while the validity start depends on the plan conditions confirmed before payment.
Can I keep my number and WhatsApp?
On most phones you can keep your primary line enabled and use the eSIM for data. Exact settings depend on your device and primary carrier.
Is the signal the same everywhere in Tunisia?
No. Coverage and speed depend on the local network, location, device and network load. Review the listed networks when they are available on the plan.
Should I turn the eSIM on while still on the ferry?
Wait for the port. Mid crossing the phone can latch onto ship systems or onto what is left of the coast you departed from, and that is usually billed separately.
What do I do about a full day in the desert?
Download maps, bookings and tickets before you set off, because you cannot open them out there. A day like that uses very little data, so the issue is coverage, not package size.
